There is nothing more satisfying than a Southern seafood dish in summer.
While there are traditions and thoughtful takes on familiar favorites, few satisfy while staying light. We have put together three clean and coastal Southern seafood recipes to try this summer.
Shrimp & Cucumber Summer Salad

Ingredients:
- 1 pound peeled and deveined cooked shrimp
- 1/4 cup of thinly sliced red onion
- 1/4 cup of chopped fresh dill
- 2 thinly sliced cucumbers
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper
Instructions:
- Combine shrimp, red onion, cucumbers, and dill in a large bowl.
- Drizzle with lemon juice and olive oil.
- Toss mixture gently.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Chill, then serve.
Garlic Shrimp Skewers

Ingredients
- 1 pound of peeled and deveined large shrimp
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 3 minced garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- Salt and pepper
- Wooden skewers
Instructions
- Soak wooden skewers in water for at least half an hour.
- Combine olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, parsley, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
- Add shrimp.
- Toss to coat shrimp in mixture.
- Marinate for 15 minutes.
- Skewer shrimp.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Grill shrimp for 3 minutes per side until slightly blackened.
- Serve.
Oven-Baked Herb-Lemon Snapper

Ingredients
- 4 snapper fillets
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 lemon zested and juiced
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon of chopped parsley
- 1 teaspoon of thyme
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Combine olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Place snapper on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Brush evenly with lemon mixture.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Garnish with parsley.
- Serve.
