The Black Jacket Symphony brings Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ to life at McWane Science Center’s dome theater. For the first time ever, experience a live concert inside McWane’s fully immersive digital dome theater, where video, sound, light, and performance will collide. Four performances will be held, including one special fundraising event on December 11th to support McWane Science Center’s mission of sparking wonder and curiosity about our world through hands-on science experiences.
Inside McWane’s Immersive Dome Theater
McWane’s legendary dome theater is more than just the stage for this one-of-a-kind concert. The theater features a 6-channel sound system and 4K laser projection technology, making it Alabama’s most immersive cinematic experience. Every note, beat, and nuance of the music is amplified by the dome’s shape and groundbreaking sound system, creating an experience that feels both intimate and expansive. The theater’s 4K laser light source provides higher contrast, resulting in more vibrant and detailed images with colors audiences have never seen on screen before. It’s a space where technology and artistry unite to bring music vividly to life.
