Eggnog, hot buttered rum, and cranberry spritzes galore! Nothing says festivity like a Christmas cocktail. From holiday-themed takeovers at our favorite craft cocktail bars to special menus and a one-of-a-kind igloo experience, there are the best places to celebrate with spirited spirits this holiday season.

Miracle on 24th Street at Queen’s Park (Birmingham)

The acclaimed national popup bar has once again set up an outpost in Birmingham at downtown cocktail bar Queen’s Park. Enter this certified winter wonderland, where a cacophony of multicolor lights, tinsel, and Christmas tchotchkes covers every last surface. Cocktails range from the sophisticated Christmaspolitan with vodka, elderflower, spiced cranberry sauce, lime, rosemary, and absinthe mist to the irreverent Yippie Ki Ya Mother F****r with rum, ube and coconut orgeat, and pineapple juice.

Sippin’ Santa at Neon Moon (Birmingham)

Everyone’s favorite five-star dive bar is suiting up for the season with the Sippin’ Santa popup bar. Neon Moon’s disco ball will still light up the dance floor, but it’ll be accompanied with hundreds of sparkling, multicolor Christmas lights, a few Christmas trees, and a rocking holiday playlist to get you in the mood. For a holiday-themed date night, order the Rudolph’ Rum Rhapsody, a tiki-style drink that’s meant for two.

Baker & Able Igloo Experience (Crowe PR/Contributed)

Miracle at Midcity at The Camp (Huntsville)

The Magic City doesn’t get to have all the fun. Huntsville is also getting in on the Miracle festivities with a popup at multiuse development The Camp. You’ll find the same great menu of cocktails as the Birmingham iteration, including the beloved Jingle Balls Nog and classic Mulled Wine, in an expansive indoor/outdoor space that includes VIP tents and even private igloo rentals.

Baker & Able Igloo Experience (Huntsville)

If Santa needs a good landing pad in the Rocket City, he might consider the roof of the 106 Jefferson Hotel in the heart of downtown. He’ll feel right at home among the glittering igloos at rooftop bar Baker & Able. From December through February, folks can rent a private igloo for up to eight guests, complete with a complimentary bottle of wine and pretzel bread charcuterie board. Through Christmas Eve, guests can order cocktails from Baker & Able’s special 12 Cocktails of Christmas menu, featuring a different themed cocktail for each of the 12 Days of Christmas in the classic song.

The Little Whiskey Christmas Club (Fairhope)

It’s always Christmas at this Fairhope establishment, so while it’s not technically a popup bar, a visit to The Little Whiskey in December fills extra special. The local-favorite bar is known for handcrafted cocktails, live music, an expansive outdoor deck, and Christmas-themed indoor décor. Be sure to check out the wall of cookie tin tops, ornament bedazzled ceiling, and Santa on the roof. Christmas cocktails featuring all your favorite flavors—from gingerbread to peppermint—complete the one-of-a-kind experience.

Jingle Bar at Hotel Capstone (Tuscaloosa)

There are only a few days left to squeeze this Tuscaloosa tradition in, but a visit to Jingle Bar at the Hotel Capstone’s Legends restaurant is more than worth your precious busy-season time. Every day from 4–10 p.m. on December 2–19, Legends becomes the Jingle Bar, complete with holiday décor, elf-approved cocktails like The Grinch (vodka, Sprite, orange juice, and Midori) and Rudolph (pomegranate margarita), and holiday-themed bites. Look out for special theme nights that range from holiday trivia to an ugly sweater contest.
