Behind every great food city are the people who make it one meal at a time. This August, Huntsville Restaurant Week is celebrating them all.

From neighborhood breweries and food trucks to chef-driven restaurants and longtime local favorites, the Rocket City’s dining scene has grown into one of Alabama’s most exciting culinary destinations. Throughout August, that growth takes center stage as the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau celebrates Culinary Month, culminating with the return of Huntsville Restaurant Week from Aug. 14-23.

Now in its 15th year, Huntsville Restaurant Week has evolved from a weeklong promotion into a month-long celebration of the people and places shaping the region’s food culture. Created by the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau in 2012 to support local restaurants, the event expanded into Culinary Month in 2022 and now includes restaurants, breweries, food trucks and other culinary businesses across Madison County.

Throughout August, diners can expect special menus, exclusive events, limited-time promotions and opportunities to discover both familiar favorites and new places to try.

“Huntsville, Madison, and Madison County culinary masterminds—a community of bakers, chefs, brewers and mixologists—have placed Rocket City on the map as a foodie destination,” said Jennifer Moore, president and CEO of the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau. “The local food and beverage prowess satisfies patrons with flavors for virtually every palate.”

Pam Williams of the CVB said the area’s culinary landscape continues to reflect Huntsville’s rapid growth and increasingly diverse community.

“Each year, the variety within our dining scene grows, and it is exciting to celebrate,” Williams said. “Being home to Redstone, Marshall Space Flight Center and scores of international companies attracts new residents who bring their culinary influences with them. This is reflected in the ever-growing variety of options.”

New this year, Food Truck Fridays will bring a rotating lineup of local food trucks to the Huntsville/Madison County Visitor Center each Friday in August, serving breakfast and lunch.

The CVB is also launching the free 2026 Rocket City Dish Pass, allowing diners to check in at participating restaurants and Culinary Month events to unlock specials and become eligible for prizes throughout the month.

Visitors can also take part in social media giveaways by sharing their dining experiences using #DineHSV for a chance to win gift cards to participating restaurants.

Whether you’re finally trying that restaurant you’ve been meaning to visit or revisiting an old favorite, Culinary Month offers a chance to experience the creativity, diversity and hospitality that continue to shape Huntsville’s growing food scene.
