Envolve has emerged as a beacon of hope and support for communities across Alabama (and throughout the country). This vertically integrated multifamily real estate company is engaged in management, ownership, and investment—taking this responsibility a step further through beneficial programs.
Launched during the isolating days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Envolve Wellness was designed to foster health and well-being among 1,000+ employees and 100,000+ residents alike. The initiative stands on the firm belief held by Envolve’s tagline, which is “Making Communities Better Together.”
In reference to that mission, Crystal Canerdy, VP of Training & Marketing at Envolve, says the Wellness program was created because “Envolve cares deeply about its residents, team members, and the greater community. We take every opportunity to live out our tagline each day.”
Envolve Wellness incorporates weekly educational programming and communication as well as events throughout the year that all promote good health and nutrition. The emails have monthly themes and often tie in with charitable donations. Participants actively compete in companywide wellness challenges and have benefited from the additional support as this is an uncommon amenity for most apartment communities.
Weekly Wellness
Envolve’s wellness program is a free resource that delivers ongoing support in their health journeys. Each week, residents and employees are treated to a curated recipe that promotes healthy eating habits. In addition, the program offers engaging Q&A sessions with Envolve Wellness Coach Travis Hill, allowing participants to ask questions and gain personalized responses in the weekly distribution. There are also engaging workout videos and tips that coordinate with the current theme.
The dedication to community wellness extends beyond just physical health; it encompasses social and emotional well-being as well.
Community Engagement Through Events
One of the standout features of Envolve’s wellness program is its live event, Wellness on Tour, which encourages active participation and community engagement. Recently, Coach Travis hosted a successful event in Prattville, Alabama, where attendees enjoyed nutrition shots from Fountain City Nutrition, a technique-based workout, a cooldown yoga session, and a meal prep demonstration followed by a delicious dinner catered by Pepper Tree Steaks N’ Wines.
Coach Travis advises, “Having a plan and good time management are extremely helpful when it comes to optimizing your wellness,” highlighting the importance of preparation and taking advantage of any free moments to achieve your overall health goals.
At the event, participants learned how to create nutritious meals that could last throughout the week. Travis collaborated with local vendors to provide an interactive cooking demonstration, showcasing meal prep techniques that attendees could easily replicate at home. The enthusiasm was palpable as participants engaged in the cooking process and shared tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Wellness at Home
Envolve is committed to providing its community members with practical advice that can easily be integrated into daily life. Here are a few tips from Coach Travis that anyone can adapt:
- Meal Prep: Planning your meals the night before can help you stay on track and make healthier choices throughout the week.
- Avoid Being Sedentary: If you find yourself sitting for long periods (especially in an office setting or at school), remember to stand up, do some dynamic stretching, and move around regularly to improve circulation and posture.
- Education: Understanding what to eat and how long to exercise is crucial. Participants often ask about the best foods for energy and the optimal duration for workouts.
Building a Stronger Community Together
With over 300 properties across 22 states, Envolve is not only focused on providing quality housing but also on enriching the lives of its residents through these initiatives. Envolve recognizes that a healthy community is a thriving community, and their investment in programs like the wellness initiative is a testament to that belief.
As Erin Jewell, Marketing & Communications Manager at Envolve, said, “Partnering with the community through our Get Envolved Foundation is crucial to our mission.” The Get Envolved Foundation amplifies this commitment by providing support to various local organizations, ensuring that the benefits of their wellness program reach even further.
The Wellness program is just one of many programs Envolve offers its communities and sets the standard for how organizations can make a tangible impact on residents and individuals. By offering resources, support, and engaging events, Envolve is paving the way for healthier, happier communities across Alabama and beyond. As the program continues to grow, it will undoubtedly inspire many more to join the movement toward better health and wellness.
