Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ with The Alabama Heathens — Florence
August 13
Southern rock is headed to the Shoals as Atlanta favorites Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ take the stage at Singin’ River Brewing Company in Florence on Thursday, Aug. 13. The longtime band, known for blending rock, folk and country influences, will be joined by North Alabama’s own The Alabama Heathens for an evening of live music. Doors open at 7 p.m., with tickets available for $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the show.
Summer Wine Tasting: Beat the Heat — Auburn

Cool off with an evening of wine tasting at Auburn’s Rane Culinary Science Center during the “Beat the Heat” Summer Wine Tasting on Thursday, Aug. 13. Led by Level 1 Sommelier Dr. David Martin, the tasting will highlight refreshing wines perfect for warm-weather sipping while offering guests the chance to learn more about the stories behind each pour.
2026 Crestline Tent Sale — Birmingham
August 15
It’s one of Birmingham’s favorite end-of-summer traditions. The Crestline Tent Sale returns to Mountain Brook Village Aug. 13–15, with dozens of local retailers bringing racks of clothing, home décor, accessories and more outside for sidewalk shopping and seasonal savings. Whether you’re looking to refresh your wardrobe or browse the latest finds from Crestline’s boutiques, it’s the perfect excuse to spend an afternoon shopping one of the city’s most charming neighborhoods.
2026 Buckmasters Expo — Montgomery
August 14–16
One of the Southeast’s biggest celebrations of the outdoors is back as the Buckmasters Expo returns to Montgomery Aug. 14–16. From the latest hunting and outdoor gear to live demonstrations, professional bull riding and appearances from outdoor personalities, the annual event draws thousands of sportsmen and families from across the region for a weekend celebrating Alabama’s hunting heritage. Admission is free with a canned food donation or $1.
Franklin County Watermelon Festival — Russellville
August 14–15
Nothing says Alabama in August quite like fresh watermelon. The Franklin County Watermelon Festival returns to downtown Russellville Aug. 14–15 with two days of live music, arts and crafts vendors, family activities, a car and truck show, watermelon contests and plenty of free watermelon. First held in 1981, the festival has become one of North Alabama’s signature summer traditions, celebrating Franklin County’s designation as the Watermelon Capital of Alabama.
Night Markets on the Square — Scottsboro
August 15
Downtown Scottsboro comes alive Saturday evening as local artists, makers, food vendors and musicians gather for the Scottsboro Saturday Night Market. Browse handcrafted goods, enjoy local eats and experience one of North Alabama’s growing downtown community while supporting small businesses and local creatives.
