Small Magic, a leading nonprofit dedicated to maximizing early literacy and school readiness for Birmingham’s youngest children, is excited to announce its annual Storytime fundraising event. Following the incredible success of last year’s gathering, this year’s event, themed “Chapter 2: Surprises,” promises an evening filled with captivating performances, heartwarming stories, and delightful surprises.
Event Details:
● Date: Thursday, September 19, 2024
● Time: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
● Location: Lumi, 2201 2nd Avenue South, Birmingham, AL
The evening will highlight the magic of storytelling and the profound impact of early literacy. All proceeds from the event will go directly toward supporting Small Magic’s programs, which equip children with the skills they need for a lifetime of learning and economic mobility.
The evening will feature live storytelling performances by special guests, including an elected official and a popular Instagram influencer. Their stories will captivate and inspire attendees, showcasing the unexpected twists and turns that make life—and learning—so magical.
Attendees will be invited to explore an interactive installation that combines compelling data with personal stories from our community, illustrating the unparalleled power of early learning and the profound impact Small Magic has had on Birmingham’s children and families.
In collaboration with Thank You Books, this year’s event will feature a “book fair for grown-ups” with a curated selection of books, all centered around the theme of surprises. Attendees can fill a custom tote with delightful reads, including novels with plot twists and unique narration styles, and relive the magic of discovering new stories.
The event is sponsored by many corporate champions, including Vulcan Materials Company, PNC Bank, Stifel, Fortif Law Partners, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, Burr Forman, Brasfield & Gorrie, Regions Bank, Coca-Cola Bottling United, Milo’s Tea Company, Cobbs Allen, and Alabama Media Group.
