Is your four-legged best friend the outdoorsy type? Is your pup especially photogenic? Then you should enter them in the Best Black Belt Dog Photo Contest!

The second annual contest from the Alabama Black Belt Adventures Association (ALBBAA) is open to all dogs out for adventure. Whether they’re on a hike, hunting/retrieving, boating, or even riding down the road with their tongue hanging out the window, snap a photo of your furry sidekick out on their favorite adventure and enter it here: https://alabamablackbeltadventures.org/bestblackbeltdogs/

The contest ends on July 31, and the winner will be determined by whichever entry has the most online votes. The winner will receive a personalized 100% cotton oil finished Shelter Dog Coat by Filson and a copy of Black Belt Bounty, an award-winning deluxe hard-cover coffee table book that celebrates the traditions of hunting and fishing in Alabama’s famed Black Belt region—a retail value of $175.

Alabama’s Black Belt — originally named for the region’s rich, black topsoil — is made up of Barbour, Bullock, Butler, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Crenshaw, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Monroe, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Russell, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Wilcox Counties.

“With the love and loyalty sportsmen share with their four-legged friends, we had an extremely successful inaugural contest last year with nearly 200 entries,” said ALBBAA Director Pam Swanner. “The Black Belt region is well known as home of the Field Trial Capital of the World and the Bass Capital of the World, but it also offers plenty of other dog-friendly activities as well. We wanted to highlight sporting dogs as well as non-sporting dogs that are out in nature or experiencing an adventure with their owners in our beautiful region. We encourage folks to get out there and explore the outdoors!”

So grab your adventurous canine comrade and snap some photos of them in action. They might be a winner!
