Every spring, The University of Alabama campus transforms into a living masterpiece. Tulips and pansies burst into color along University Boulevard, while the elephant topiary sculpted from creeping fig stands proudly in front of the Rose Administration Building. The Grounds Department has planned this floral symphony since November, ensuring every petal and blade of grass reflects the pride of Capstone Country.
Bama in Bloom: A 48-Hour Celebration of Giving
This year, the University invites the entire Bama community—students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends—to help that beauty flourish in an even deeper way. From noon on April 7 to noon on April 9, Bama Blitz 2026 returns for its ninth year under the theme “Bama in Bloom.” It is a 48-hour crowdfunding campaign that turns every gift, no matter the size, into fuel for student success, academic excellence, and campus life. When the Bama community comes together, the Capstone doesn’t just bloom—it thrives.

Unlocking Big Impact Through Community Power
Bama Blitz’s goal is simple yet powerful: to drive participation in the act of giving back to UA at any amount. It encourages alumni, faculty, staff, and the entire UA community to believe in the idea of helping students grow and bloom. This is evident through challenges like the Bryant Bank challenge, which seeks to secure 1,300 unique donors to unlock a $50,000 gift from Bryant Bank.
The campaign also includes additional challenges. The CHES Leadership Match offers dollar-for-dollar matching up to $10,000. The Capstone College of Nursing Board of Visitors will match up to $5,000. The Rochelle ’76 & Michael Koslin CTSF Challenge adds $12,000 once 300 donors support the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund.
Every college and unit—from the Culverhouse College of Business to the Honors College, from Athletics to University Libraries—competes on a live “Beat Your Best 2026” leaderboard. Last year’s records are waiting to be shattered, and donors from all 50 states are encouraged to claim “first donor from your state” bragging rights.
Easy Ways to Join the Blitz
Gifts of any amount go directly to the fund of your choice. During three special Power Hours, donors giving $15 or more receive a packet of “Bama in Bloom” flower seeds—a tangible reminder that your support helps students grow. The Opening Sprint (April 7, noon–1 p.m.), Early Bird Challenge (April 8, 8–9 a.m.), and Last Push Power Hour (April 9, 11 a.m.–noon) turn giving into a celebration. Social-media ambassadors can amplify the movement by sharing updates and inspiring friends; sign-ups are open now. Whether you’re a current student cheering on the Quad or an alumnus watching from across the country, your voice and your gift matter.

Real Impact on Student Success
The impact is personal and far-reaching. Donations support scholarships that ease financial burdens, research opportunities that prepare the next generation of leaders, and student-life programs that create lifelong memories.
They fund cutting-edge labs in the College of Engineering, wellness initiatives in the College of Community Health Sciences, and hands-on learning in the College of Communication & Information Sciences. In short, Bama Blitz turns individual generosity into collective excellence—the very spirit that makes Alabama one of the nation’s most vibrant public universities.
Make Bama Bloom Brighter
As the cherry blossoms give way to dogwoods and the campus glows under April sunshine, Bama Blitz offers the perfect way to invest in that future. Every gift plants a seed. Every donor helps the Capstone bloom brighter than ever.
Mark your calendar: April 7–9, 2026. Visit the Bama Blitz website, choose a fund that speaks to your heart, and join the movement. Together, we won’t just watch spring arrive—we’ll make sure it lasts for generations of Crimson Tide students to come.
The Quad is green. The flowers are ready. Now it’s our turn to make Bama bloom.
