Alabaster CityFest
Alabaster CityFest is set for Saturday, June 7, with Parmalee, Maddie and Tae, Five for Fighting and Eric Essix. Click here for the complete list of performances. Mule Day / Chickenfest
The annual street festival will kick off June 6-7 in downtown Gordo. The event offers live entertainment, food trucks, street vendors, children’s games and activities and a 5K Run. Steel City Smooth Jazz Festival
It’s a four-day celebration of music, culture and community in the heart of Birmingham at the Steel City Smooth Jazz Festival. From the high-energy line dance soirée at historic Legion Field to jazz and R&B performances in Linn Park and a Sunday gospel celebration, the festival is June 5-8. Zoo Brews
Experience breweries from all over Alabama and the Southeast while you travel through the Birmingham Zoo Friday, June 6. For an additional charge, the Flamingo Cart on Henley Lawn will serve full-sized beer and wine. Each sample will be worth one penny. Zoo Brews will operate with a “Penny-A-Pour” system. Guests will drop a penny into a bucket at each brewery booth to receive a sample. A penny redemption booth at each vendor station will allow participants to cash in larger coins for pennies.

Birmingham Festa Italiana
Explore varied aspects of Italian life, from traditions and foods to language, culture and history at Birmingham’s Sloss Furnaces. Attendees will enjoy Italian-inspired musical performances, authentic Italian cuisine, more than 40 merchandise vendors and Italian cars on Saturday, June 7, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. General admission is $10 in advance, $15 at the gate and free for children ages 10 and younger. The Temptations and Four Tops in concert
Celebrate decades of hits from The Temptations and The Four Tops Thursday, June 5, at 7 p.m. at the Alabama Theatre. The Temptations are revered for their catalog of music and prolific career. Otis Williams has continued to lead the group and carry the torch forward for the next generation of Temptations fans. Fan favorites include “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)” and “Papa Was a Rolling Stone.” The Four Tops had their first Motown hit, “Baby I Need Your Loving,” in 1964. Red Mountain Theatre presents ‘Disney’s Frozen’
In the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, Princesses Anna and Elsa grow up sheltered inside their castle, isolated from the world and increasingly distant from each other. When Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she’s desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control and she flees into the mountains. As a ferocious winter descends on Arendelle, Anna sets off on an epic journey to find Elsa and bring her home – with the help of hardworking ice harvester Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven and a happy-go-lucky snowman named Olaf. The “Disney’s Frozen” production is underway through Sunday, June 29, at the Red Mountain Theatre.
