Imagine an impressive explosion of holiday festivity and celebratory cheer: twinkling lights, classic Christmas carols, and floor to ceiling tinsel. Now imagine even more. And a little more… perfect. This is what you’ll see the first time you walk into Queen’s Park’s Miracle on 24th Street, an over-the-top holiday experience that you won’t want to miss.

Minimalism is definitely frowned upon inside of Queen’s Park, a classic cocktail bar located in Birmingham’s historic downtown Loft District. Larry Townley, the bar’s owner and operator, says that the staff spends 96 hours transforming the space into a holiday wonderland. “Watching someone’s eyes light up the first time they experience Miracle makes the decorating worth every second,” he explains.

Miracle on 24th Street held its first season in 2018, and since then, the Christmas-themed “bar within a bar” pop-up has offered a fun and festive atmosphere to gather with friends and loved ones. When asked about his favorite element of Miracle, Townley noted how the celebratory ambiance, decor, and inventive cocktails are simply the backdrop for the people.

“The main goal of Miracle is to celebrate the wonderful time of the year,” he remarks. “We strive to give people a space to come and celebrate the year, sing along to their favorite carols, drink fabulous cocktails, and get away from everyday life into this magic space we’ve created.”

While the extravagant holiday decor will draw you in, the inventive cocktails served in custom glassware are sure to make you stay awhile. The seasonal crowd favorite is the Christmapolitan, which features vodka, elderflower, dry vermouth, spiced cranberry sauce, lime, rosemary, and absinthe.

The staff favorite is called the Koala Cooler, a brandy and vermouth cocktail that comes with an adorable toy koala clipped onto the drink for you to take home as a keepsake. Miracle offers 12 specialty cocktails, large-format cocktails served in disco balls, and non-alcoholic drinks along with some nostalgic holiday snacks.

Don’t miss Miracle on 24th Street this holiday season—they will be open for your holiday celebrations until December 30th. Want to double down on your festive night out? You can also visit Sippin’ Santa on 2nd at Queen’s Park’s sister bar, Neon Moon, which offers a fun Tiki version of Miracle.
