Summer (June – August) 

• Zook’s Orchard – Open on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday evenings from 6:30 p.m. until dark, Zook’s Orchard (located in North Alabama) offers pick-your-own blueberries and wild blackberries for $2.50 per pound. 

• Mullins Orchard – Featuring six acres of fruits and nuts, Mullins offers u-pick blueberries for $17 or pre-picked for $23. They also sell blackberry plants to take home, as well as cage-free chicken eggs 

• Holmestead Farm – The produce at this Talladega farm is as diverse as it is delicious. From all varieties of berries and stone fruits to apples, pears, and even pomegranates, fruit is abundant. In May through October, there are tomatoes, okra, beans, peas, squash, and cucumbers. Summer offers u-pick rattlesnake pole beans, blueberries, apples, blackberries, and flowers. 

• Smith’s Farm – Pick your own blueberries for $2 per pound at this North Alabama farm from June through August. 

• Bear Mountain Blueberry Farm – Located just outside the Clay City limits, head to this blueberry farm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon to pick your own berries for $10 per gallon. 

• Scott’s Orchard – Reserve your spot on the wagon for a one-of-a-kind peach-picking experience at this orchard in Hazel Green. The orchard hosts pick days on in-season Saturdays for $22 per person, which includes the cost of the peaches you take home. 

• K & D Blueberry Farm – Located near Tuscaloosa in Woodstock, this blueberry farm offers u-pick blueberries for $8 per gallon. 

• The Vogel Farm – Have a laidback blueberry picking experience at this family farm. Grab a gallon bucket and pick Southern Highbush and Rabbiteye blueberries to your heart’s desire. If no one’s on site to meet you, the farm has a honesty policy and money deposit box. 

• Bagwell Blueberry Farm – This true blueberry farm in Cullman offers u-pick Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. During June and July, they also offer several seasonal vegetables.

Late Summer/Early Fall (August – October)

• The Vineyard at Frog Holler – Pick your own muscadines and scuppernongs at this Hurricane Valley vineyard. Local breweries and wineries use their fruit for beer and wine. They’re also great for making your own juice and jellies.

• Brown Farms – It’s all about the strawberries at this family-owned farm in New Market. In addition to pre-picked and u-pick strawberries, they also sell homemade ice cream, jams, and snow cones featuring their sweet, juicy berries. 

• Jerry Marsh Farms – Pick fresh strawberries on Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at this Cleveland farm. Gallon baskets are $12 if you pick your own or $14 pre-picked. 

• J. Durbin Farms – The strawberry portion of this renowned peach farm goes by the name of Sunshine Farms. In operation since 1990, the farm’s 135,000 strawberry plants offer plenty of opportunity to spend an afternoon finding these sweet treasures. 

• Gypsy Ranch – The USDA Certified Organic farm in Altoona sells produce boxes filled with veggies including okra, zucchini, bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, and more. In the spring, they offer u-pick strawberries for $12. 

• Norris Farms – This local farm in Hokes Bluff sells a variety of produce and offers pick-your-own strawberries from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $12 per gallon. 

• C Watts Farms – This 60-acre working farm in Munford grows tomatoes, corn, cucumber, squash, and more. It also offers strawberry picking beginning in March.
